Emergency Shelter Program (Centre House):
Provides shelter and food to clients who are homeless or in crisis over the age of 18 unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian or who are legally emancipated. The shelter is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day and is staffed 24 hours a day. There is no charge to the client to stay at the shelter. more details

Housing Case Management Program:
Individuals and families have the opportunity to work with the Housing Case Manager to locate and secure affordable housing in Centre County. Families at or below 200% of poverty seeking affordable housing are eligible for these services. Families may be homeless, near homeless or relocating for various
reasons. more details

Adult Services Case Management Program:
The Adult Services Program provides a “safety net” to Centre County’s human service agencies, for individuals between the ages of 18 and 60. Centre County residents who may require additional
services to what is currently available through other agencies are served in this program. more details

Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-housing Program:
ATTENTION: This program will end January 31, 2012 and is no longer accepting new applicants.
In collaboration with other local human services agencies, HTI provides Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-housing Program (HPRP) case management and rental assistance to Centre County residents and their families who are homeless or at imminent risk of losing their housing.

Emergency Food Pantry Program:
Our food pantry can supply individuals or families with enough food for the weekend or until the food bank is open again.
This program is separate from the shelter and does not supply the needs of the shelter but is available for anyone in Centre County.
Time limited housing for approved individuals and families who are coming out of shelter. HTI has 2 Bridge Housing units and 6 Supportive Housing units at scattered locations in the State College area. HTI pays the rent to the landlord and is considered the tenant. more details
Home Buyers Program/Community Housing Development Program:
Works with individuals who may want to purchase a home within the Borough of State College and involves pre-determination of loan eligibility, assistance with any issues regarding not so good credit or credit reports, budget and credit counseling, a homebuyers education class, etc. more details
Supportive Services Only Case Management Program:
This program provides Case Management services to individuals who are homeless to assist them in obtaining/remaining in permanent housing with the goal of increasing or maintaining income and to
improve independent living skills. call us for more details
Foreclosure Prevention Program: ATTENTION: This program will not be accepting new applicants until further notice. In the meantime, please contact Consumer Credit Counseling or Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) for other options.
The Foreclosure Prevention program works with homeowners in Centre County to prevent mortgage default and keep families and individuals in their homes. Our counselor works directly with homeowners to coordinate financial and mortgage counseling and negotiating payment plans with lenders, often utilizing available federal and state programs. No fee is charged for these services. call us for more details
